Step by Step

  • Step 1

Use our Ground coffee or grind our Wholebean variety for this pour over brew technique. We will be using 15g of coffee in, which provides 250g of coffee out.

  • Step 2

If grinding your coffee, you will need to provide a medium coarseness for the best tasting pour over coffee. You’ll need to weigh 15g of coffee to begin. Use the Timemore Future Self Coffee Manual Hand Grinder for easy & exceptional results.

  • Step 3

Whilst you’re grinding your coffee, be sure to boil your water ready to use. Leave the water to stand for around a minute to ensure you don’t scold the coffee.

  • Step 4

Place your filter cup on top of a glass coffee jug or your favourite mug & place the filter paper in the top. (Ensuring it can hold 250g of coffee once brewed). Pour a small amount of your water evenly over the filter paper to dampen. This will help to hold the paper in place & remove any flavours from the paper you do not want in your brew.

  • Step 5

Discard the excess water from your mug or glass jug.

  • Step 6

Place the 15g of ground coffee over the filter paper. You can use coffee scales to ensure a balanced & equal brew. Top tip, create a little divot within the coffee before pouring your water to allow an even layered brew.

  • Step 7

Gently pour the hot water in circular motions over the coffee. We recommend 50g every 30 seconds when pouring, with a total brew time of around 3 minutes, use a timer for best results.

  • Step 8

Remove the filter cup & discard of the coffee grounds. Pour into your favourite mug if you used a jug & enjoy your pour over coffee.
