Step by Step

  • Step 1

Switch on your espresso machine & allow to heat up. This may take a few minutes. We recommend setting your machine to around 93 degrees.

  • Step 2

Finely grind your wholebean coffee, we recommend 18g of coffee. Avoid grinding too finely as this will give you a more bitter taste profile. We are aiming for the coffee to flow through your machine at around 25-30 seconds, adjust & test your grind size accordingly. The finer the grind the slower the coffee will flow & the courser the grind the faster the coffee flow.

  • Step 3

Twist and remove the portafilter from your Espresso Machine.

  • Step 4

Pour your ground coffee into the portafilter and tamp. Ensure you tamp tightly to ensure an even brew. Brush off any excess coffee.

  • Step 5

Place the portafilter back into the group head & start your espresso machine. Allow enough time for coffee extraction. You are aiming for 25-30 seconds for full extraction.

  • Step 6

You’re now ready to serve or add your milk. Milk is best heated to 55-65 degrees & listen out for the slight ‘tearing’ sound whilst heating for the best pouring texture.
